Job summary

Vanir Construction Management, Inc. is seeking a qualified OAR II in Los Angeles to lead pre-construction through close-out for complex public/educational facilities projects.

The role requires a strong background in design-build, BIM, LEED/CHPS, DSA processes, and safety compliance, with licensure as an Architect or Engineer and CCM credential preferred. Competitive benefits accompany the posted salary range.

Qualifications

• Must have 15 years of full-time professional Construction/Project Management experience, with 5+ years coordinating complex projects >$20M.
• Alternative: 20 years total experience with 15 years coordinating complex projects >$20M.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of pre-construction, bid/award, construction and close-out for assigned projects.
• Review pre-construction documents and provide comments to Designers.
• Prepare reports for upper management on project status and progress.
• Coordinate with District and Project staff and public agencies.
• Manage project budget and schedule; monitor monthly budget and reflect progress.
• Oversee daily activities of contractors and review schedules/submittals; respond to RFCs.
• Review contractor substitutions to ensure compliance with specs.
• Negotiate Change Orders to achieve fair pricing; address schedule impacts.
• Review payments to contractors, architects, engineers, and others.
• Administer Professional Service Agreements between Architects and the District.
• Coordinate delivery of fixtures, furniture and equipment.
• Monitor project close-out and regulatory certifications (DSA).
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
