Job summary

City of Durham Parks and Recreation is hiring for a recreation program assistant to develop and implement indoor and outdoor activities, supervise facilities, and coordinate with partner agencies. Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Two years of experience with diverse groups in recreation and customer service.
• Must be at least 21 years old and have NC Class C license.
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and supervise activities across multiple spaces.
• Develop and implement programs for diverse groups.
• Open/close facilities and supervise rentals.
• Maintain records, contracts, time sheets and reports.
• Provide excellent customer service and assist participants and families.
• Enter registrations into Active.net and manage budgets.
• Coordinate with schools, nonprofits, and partners.
• Translate communications for Latino Outreach as needed.
