Opportunity

kW Mission Critical Engineering, a member of WSP USA, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in our Columbus, OH office. You will design complex cooling and HVAC systems, including air distribution, chiller plants, and alternative energy solutions for mission critical facilities.

Your Responsibilities
  • Support project teams during design and construction phases
  • Design air distribution, hydronic, and automated temperature control systems
  • Integrate complex mechanical requirements into facility designs
  • Develop drawings and specifications for architects, contractors, and owners
  • Participate in client meetings and contribute to discussions
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors
  • Communicate engineering concepts to clients and stakeholders
  • Maintain and develop client relationships
  • Mentor junior engineers
  • Oversee all mechanical disciplines and review systems and drawings
  • Perform CFD evaluations for facilities
  • Select and schedule major equipment
  • Develop project specifications and evaluate existing conditions
  • Perform construction administration tasks
Qualifications

The ideal candidate has experience with Building Information Modeling (Revit), strong communication skills, and willingness to travel. Must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical systems design for high-performance, commercial, industrial, or data center buildings
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Trane Trace, Pipeflow
  • Knowledge of building, mechanical, and energy codes
Preferred Qualifications
  • EIT or PE license
  • Experience with CFD modeling
  • Experience in mission-critical/data centers and international projects
