Job summary

Berkley Luxury Group is seeking a Senior Production Underwriter to join its underwriting team. This role can be located in OH, IL, or MD/DC on a remote basis.

The Senior Production Underwriter will profitably grow a book by partnering with brokers, maintaining agency relationships, and applying underwriting rules with extensive knowledge of Property, Liability, Auto, and Umbrella coverage. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree, at least 5 years of underwriting experience, and strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent job-related experience.
• Minimum of 5 years underwriting experience.
• Demonstrated technical underwriting expertise and product specific knowledge (Property, Liability, Auto, and Umbrella).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and effective interpersonal, communication & negotiation abilities.
• Demonstrated proficiency in sales and marketing.
• Solid knowledge of underwriting and insurance industry theories and practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills with internal/external partners.
• Ability to multi-task and to independently prioritize competing demands.
• Ability to work independently and exercise independent judgment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new and renewal business within BLG’s strategy and guidelines.
• Plan and budget the book of business, track performance and market trends.
• Provide guidance to other underwriters and functional areas.
• Monitor production metrics and adjust strategies accordingly.
• Develop and maintain agency relationships and orchestrate broker negotiations.
• Deliver timely, complete and accurate service to agents and policyholders.
