The Production Support Engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting and restoring service to application services. You will also create Incident Response reports for all major incidents and help to communicate process improvements.


Responsibilities

  • Monitor and support production environments running .NET applications and SQL Server databases to ensure high availability and stability.
  • Respond promptly to production incidents, performing root cause analysis using debugging tools like Visual studio, SQL server Management studio and application insights.
  • Maintain azure app services, function apps, application gateways and azure data factory pipelines, windows services.
  • Monitors dashboards and alerts and responds according to alerts as necessary.
  • Responsible for incident escalation and establishing team meetings to bring resolution to high priority incidents.
  • Creates reports, dashboards, and alerts as necessary to ensure that incidents are identified and resolved within SLA.
  • Ability to identify bottlenecks in both application and database performance and apply fixes.
  • May design, code, benchmark test, debug and document programs.
  • Performs impact analysis to output data processing based on user and client requirements.
  • Analyzes documentation supporting changes in a complex production environment.
  • Will communicate status of operations to allow for immediate response to service disruptions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field or related practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in Microsoft SQL serve and .NET technologies.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience on Azure
  • Strong knowledge of the .NET ecosystem, including c#, ASP.NET, MVC and .NET core.
  • Proficiency in SQL server management: Write, maintain, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures and triggers.
  • Experience with azure services like web apps, function apps, Azure data factory pipelines, storage accounts and key vault.
  • Familiarity with version controlling systems like GIT, Azure repos.
  • Familiarity with deployments using Azure DevOps.
  • Attention to detail and maintaining high quality standards is a must
  • Ability to prioritize and manage concurrent issues, demonstrate initiative, and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with the ability to influence and demonstrate confidence in communications with senior level management.
  • Adept at learning and applying new technologies and solving new problems.
  • Ability to understand and translate business requirements into data and technical requirements.
  • High degree of organization and ability to manage multiple, competing projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Positive and flexible attitude to enable adjusting to different needs in an ever-changing environment.
  • Strong leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills; comfortable managing trade-offs.
