Job summary

Ghirardelli is seeking a Senior Production Supervisor to lead safety, quality and efficiency across our chocolate production lines, partnering with the Safety Manager to meet goals and drive continuous improvement.

You will develop staff through coaching and training, enforce GMP and sanitation standards, manage line performance, support SAP as a Super User, and coordinate with union-represented teams to meet production plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, food science or manufacturing; 3–5 years related experience.
• 1–2 years supervisory experience, ideally in a union environment.
• Experience in chocolate, food, or pharmaceutical industries.
• Lean manufacturing experience and continuous improvement mindset.
• Strong MS Office and integrated systems literacy.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of production processes, packaging and processing machinery.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and improvement projects.
• Ability to build trust and work in a union environment.
• Self-directed and motivated; adaptable to shift work.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Safety Manager to meet safety goals.
• Train staff in safety procedures and accident prevention.
• Enforce GMP and sanitation standards; manage performance.
• Lead continuous improvement using in-house tools; address quality issues.
• Ensure adherence to HACCP, sanitation and documentation.
• Review line performance and develop corrective actions.
• Provide SAP Super User support across shifts.
• Set KPI expectations and hold staff accountable.
• Develop training plans with HR and staffing teams.
