Job summary

Vaupell is seeking a Production Planning Manager in Everett, WA to own the site Master Production Schedule (MPS) and lead production planning and scheduling. You will translate customer demand into executable plans while balancing labor, capacity, and material availability to improve throughput and on-time delivery.

The role requires 7+ years of manufacturing planning experience, strong ERP/MRP (EPICOR) skills, and leadership capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, operations, business, engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years in manufacturing planning, production control, or supply chain, incl. 5+ years leading planners/schedulers.
• Strong ERP/MRP planning experience, preferably EPICOR, with advanced Excel and data-analysis skills.
• Experience with labor and machine capacity planning, schedule recovery, and data-based problem solving.
• Strong leadership, communication, cross-functional collaboration, and change-management skills.
• Fluency in English (reading, speaking, and understanding).
• Preferred: APICS CPIM, aerospace or regulated manufacturing (AS9100), Lean or CI experience.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain the site Master Production Schedule (MPS) and weekly/daily production schedules.
• Align customer demand with labor, equipment capacity, and material availability.
• Release, prioritize, and monitor work orders; adjust schedules for expedites and changes.
• Drive schedule adherence, throughput, and on-time delivery.
• Analyze capacity, identify bottlenecks, and develop recovery plans.
• Support staffing forecasts and capacity for new programs or growth.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain for material readiness and inventory alignment.
• Participate in SIOP and communicate risks and mitigation plans to leadership.
• Monitor planning KPIs such as forecast accuracy, backlog, and delivery performance.
• Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for planning issues.
• Improve ERP/MRP planning parameters and reporting.
• Lead planning-focused continuous improvement and support new product introductions.
• Coach and develop planners/schedulers; enforce policies and safety.
