Job summary

SAPA Transmission, a DoD contractor, is hiring a Production Planner in Shelby Township, MI to develop and execute master production schedules aligned with commitments and capacity. You will collaborate across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Program Management to ensure on-time delivery and data-driven planning.

The role emphasizes cross-functional coordination, data analytics using Power BI, and maintaining ERP parameters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
• 5–7+ years of production planning or related manufacturing planning experience.
• Experience with engineered-to-order or configurable manufacturing environments preferred.
• Experience in military, aerospace, automotive, defense, or similar industries preferred.
• Experience with ERP/material management systems; Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred.
• Experience with Power BI, production reporting, and data analytics preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and production scheduling tools.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain master production schedules aligned with commitments and forecasts.
• Create short- and long-range production plans for manufacturing cells and processes.
• Balance labor, equipment, materials, and capacity across programs and product lines.
• Monitor progress, sequence work orders, and improve throughput and reduce bottlenecks.
• Identify schedule risks and lead recovery efforts related to material shortages or disruptions.
• Develop long-range capacity plans and support ramp-ups, expansions, and resource planning.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain and Logistics to ensure material availability and accurate MRP outputs.
• Support daily meetings and provide status, risks, and recovery plans to leadership.
