Job summary

Wabtec is seeking a Senior Production Planner in State College, PA to lead production planning, material availability and lifecycle management. You will coordinate with Demand, Purchasing, Engineering, and Manufacturing to ensure on-time delivery and optimize ERP-based processes.

Responsibilities include managing the production plan, releasing work orders, and driving S&OP improvements while maintaining inventory targets and coordinating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in manufacturing with focus on production and material planning.
• Experience as planner or master production scheduler; ERP and MRP knowledge.
• Highly organized, works well independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to read ECOs, BOMs and specification sheets.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and negotiation skills.
• Experience in Lean-Sigma environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and release the production plan and material availability.
• Coordinate with Demand, Purchasing, Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure on-time delivery.
• Prepare material requirements plans using ERP systems.
• Drive S&OP processes and improve system performance.
• Communicate delivery plans and delays with Customer Service.
• Update customer delivery dates and manage phase-in/phase-out.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and process automation.
