Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) seeks an experienced planner to support a major project by planning, preparing, issuing and controlling production schedules, coordinating with material requirements to ensure a smooth flow of approved materials to meet production needs.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in business administration with emphasis in planning, engineering or production control.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing planning, budgeting, and performance measurement.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Advise management on status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems.
• Track and evaluate plans, schedules, and budgets for accuracy and issues.
• Generate manufacturing work orders using MRP planned orders and issue purchase requisitions.
• Process work orders and material dispositions for non-conforming material.
• Schedule equipment and personnel, confirm material supply, and prepare purchase orders.
• Monitor budgets, track program funding, and provide reports.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Finance, QA and outside processors.
• Provide directions to staff as needed and ensure safety compliance.
