Job summary

General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) is seeking a Material Planner to join its Material Control group in Rancho Bernardo, CA. Under general supervision, you will provide material planning support for research-related or production projects, including analysis, expediting and purchasing.

Responsibilities include scheduling, budgeting, performance monitoring, reporting and coordinating with Purchasing, Contracts, Finance, and QA.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Business Administration with emphasis in Planning, Engineering, Production Control or related discipline.
  • Six or more years progressive experience in planning, scheduling, budgeting and performance measurement.
  • Understanding of planning principles and manufacturing/accounting systems.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to work with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to obtain TS or SCI security clearance.
  • Willingness to work extended hours.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and administer tasks of major research or production projects, including scheduling and budgeting.
  • Provide planning administration to various tasks/projects with expediting and purchasing.
  • Track plans, schedules and budgets; report variances to management.
  • Interact with Purchasing, Contracts, Finance, QA to collect data and prepare reports.
  • Develop project organization with work breakdown structures and schedules.
