Job summary

Gelia, a top 10 B2B marketing communications agency, is seeking an experienced Production Manager for our Buffalo, NY office. You will manage diverse print and direct mail programs, oversee proofs, press checks, finishing, personalization, and complex campaigns from planning through delivery.

The ideal candidate has five or more years in production leadership, a deep knowledge of commercial printing, data-driven direct mail, and the ability to collaborate with internal teams and external vendors

Qualifications

• Five or more years of experience managing print, direct mail, or integrated marketing production projects.
• Strong knowledge of commercial printing: substrates, color, proofs, press checks, bindery, finishing, personalization, fulfillment.
• Ability to conduct press checks and evaluate production quality independently.
• Experience managing complex direct mail programs including data, personalization, postal requirements, and fulfillment.
• Experience applying production knowledge to non-print projects like promotional merchandise and event materials.
• Excellent problem-solving, vendor evaluation, and ability to forecast and mitigate risks.

Responsibilities

• Define project scope, specifications, schedules, budgets, and production requirements with internal teams.
• Manage print and direct mail projects from planning through delivery, including fulfillment and mailing.
• Develop accurate production estimates, timelines, and schedules.
• Review artwork, proofs, data instructions, and production specs for accuracy.
• Conduct press checks, live approvals, and QA reviews to ensure client expectations.
• Source and manage outside vendors and production partners.
• Monitor progress, report status, and ensure deadlines and budgets are met.
