Signs Express Inc. is a full-service commercial sign manufacturing company based in Carrollton, Texas, serving businesses throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth area and nationwide.

We specialize in custom indoor and outdoor signage, including illuminated channel letters, halo-lit signs, monument and pylon signs, cabinet signs, storefront signage, dimensional letters, vinyl graphics, banners, and other custom-fabricated signage.

Our production facility handles design, production files, fabrication, electrical assembly, printing, and sign manufacturing in-house. We are looking for an experienced signage professional who understands both production management and the hands-on technical side of running a sign shop.

Role Description

Signs Express is seeking an experienced Senior Signage Production Manager to oversee and manage the daily operations of our Carrollton production facility.

This is a hands-on production leadership position. The ideal candidate must have direct experience manufacturing commercial signage, especially illuminated channel letters, and should be comfortable operating and troubleshooting sign-production equipment.

The Production Manager will be responsible for taking approved sign drawings from the design department and successfully moving projects through production, fabrication, assembly, quality control, and installation readiness.

Ordering materials for vendors on daily basis and keeping track of inventory

This person should understand how to create, review, and prepare production-ready files and should be able to step onto the production floor and operate equipment when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the complete signage production process from approved drawings through final fabrication.
• Schedule and prioritize production jobs based on installation deadlines and customer commitments.
• Supervise channel letter fabrication, electrical assembly, sign cabinets, raceways, backer plates, acrylic faces, aluminum fabrication, and related signage products.
• Review drawings and convert approved designs into accurate production and fabrication files.
• Prepare or review files for CNC routers, channel letter benders, plotters, and large-format printers.
• Understand sign measurements, scaling, letter depths, returns, trim cap, raceways, backer plates, mounting patterns, and fabrication specifications.
• Operate and troubleshoot sign manufacturing equipment when required.
• Train and supervise production employees while maintaining productivity and workmanship standards.
• Assign daily work to channel letter, electrical, fabrication, vinyl, printing, and assembly teams.
• Coordinate closely with the design, permitting, project management, sales, and installation departments.
• Verify that materials, colors, dimensions, electrical components, and fabrication specifications match approved drawings.
• Perform final quality-control inspections before signs are released for installation.
• Maintain production schedules and communicate delays or potential issues immediately.
• Monitor material inventory, LEDs, power supplies, aluminum, acrylic, trim cap, vinyl, paint, fasteners, and other production supplies.
• Maintain equipment and coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Improve production workflows to increase capacity, efficiency, and turnaround time.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe manufacturing environment.

Equipment Experience

Candidates should have experience with several of the following types of sign-production equipment:

• Automatic Channel Letter Bender
• CNC Router
• Large-Format Printer
• Vinyl Plotter / Cutter
• Aluminum cutting and fabrication equipment
• Brake / shear equipment
• Welding equipment
• Electrical and LED assembly tools
• Acrylic and aluminum fabrication equipment

The Production Manager does not need to personally perform every fabrication task every day, but must understand the equipment and production process well enough to train employees, troubleshoot problems, verify files, and step in when necessary.

Production File Experience

Strong preference will be given to candidates who understand how to prepare or review:

• CNC router files
• Print-ready artwork
• Vinyl cutting files
• Letter patterns
• Raceway and backer plate layouts
• Acrylic face files
• Mounting patterns
• Electrical layouts
• Installation patterns and templates

Experience with signage software, Adobe Illustrator, SAi software, EnRoute, or similar production software is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in commercial sign manufacturing, channel letter production, or a related signage environment preferred.
• Prior experience managing or supervising a sign production facility strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of channel letter fabrication and illuminated signage.
• Hands-on experience with sign-production machinery including CNC routers, channel benders, printers, and plotters.
• Ability to understand architectural drawings, sign drawings, measurements, fabrication specifications, and production files.
• Ability to create or modify production-ready files when required.
• Knowledge of LEDs, power supplies, wiring, raceways, backer plates, acrylic, aluminum, trim cap, and common signage materials.
• Strong production scheduling and workflow-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting aggressive deadlines.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and hold production employees accountable.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong attention to detail and quality control.
• Understanding of OSHA and general manufacturing safety requirements.
• Ability to communicate effectively with designers, sales representatives, project managers, installers, and ownership.
• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
• Must be available to work on-site in Carrollton, Texas.

• How the production files should be prepared
• How the letters should be routed and bent
• How LEDs and power supplies should be configured
• How the sign should be assembled
• How it will ultimately be installed

This is not solely an office-management position. We need a leader who understands the machinery, fabrication process, production files, employees, and workflow required to operate a successful sign manufacturing facility.
