Job summary

Signs By G, a Houston-based fast-growing signage company, seeks a proven Production Manager to lead the entire production floor across routing, printing, vinyl, and installation prep. You will drive throughput, enforce quality, and mentor a growing team.

This is a hands-on leadership role for a capable manager with 3+ years in signage or related fabrication, aiming to scale a best-in-class operation with strong KPI focus and safety culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of management experience in signage manufacturing, custom fabrication, or a related production environment
• Working knowledge of channel letters, UL wiring, ACM fabrication, acrylic, LED modules, cabinet fabrication, vinyl application, and CNC routing
• Strong leadership presence; you can command a shop floor and earn respect through competence
• Comfortable running long days in a fast-paced, high-output environment
• High accountability mindset; deadlines and quality standards are non-negotiable
• Excellent communication and coordination skills across departments
• Ability to read shop drawings, plans, and technical specifications
• Fast, decisive problem-solver who doesn’t wait to be told what to do

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the entire production floor across all departments
• Oversee daily workflow and ensure every job hits its deadline
• Coordinate between Project Managers, designers, production leads, and installation
• Identify bottlenecks early and eliminate them before they become delays
• Maintain quality standards and compliance with code requirements
• Manage materials, inventory, and vendor communication
• Enforce safety, organization, and shop efficiency
• Hold team members accountable for speed, quality, and craftsmanship
• Oversee labor hours and production cost control
• Train, develop, and mentor production staff at every level
• Maintain a positive, high-energy culture even during heavy workloads

Signs By G is a fast-growing commercial signage company based in Houston, TX. We produce and install signage for retail centers, franchises, developers, and construction partners across the country. We move fast, we hold high standards, and we're looking for a leader who can match that energy on the shop floor.

About the Role

This role oversees the entire production operation: routing, printing, vinyl, channel letters, UL wiring, fabrication, and installation prep. You will make sure every job moves from department to department with speed, clarity, and accountability, and that the team stays aligned and productive every single day.

This is not an entry-level position. This is a role for a proven leader who knows how to run a tight shop, develop a team, and drive results without being hand-held.
