Job summary

La-Z-Boy Incorporated in Dayton, TN is seeking a Plant Leader to oversee production processes, lead production teams and drive safe, efficient operations that meet quality standards and financial targets.

You will partner with plant managers across the network, implement Lean and continuous improvement initiatives, manage the annual operating plan, and ensure on-time delivery while maintaining a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations or related field with 8–10 years of relevant experience, or equivalent 3–5 years of supervisory/leadership experience.
• Master’s degree is preferred for advanced leadership roles.

Responsibilities

• Interact as a member of the Plant Lead Team in developing strategic vision and action plans.
• Coach and lead managers/coaches and staff personnel in teamwork and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Oversee cost-effective flow of product through the production system and meet AOP financial targets.
• Plan department operations and set priorities to meet scheduling requirements.
• Ensure compliance with standard operating practices including E1 inventory accuracy.
• Provide leadership to develop and maintain a safe workplace.
• Enforce quality standards and ensure products meet specifications.
• Maintain the product quality system and compliance.
• Evaluate and implement processes to improve site production goals.
• Direct plant schedule to guarantee on-time delivery to customers.
• Support hiring decisions and disciplinary actions for production staff.
• Deliver effective communications to support morale and performance.
