Job summary
La-Z-Boy Incorporated is seeking a Manufacturing Development Training Lead to manage workforce capability, training systems, and certification processes across multiple facilities in the Dayton area. You will align training with safety and quality objectives and partner with HR, Operations, and plant leadership to drive readiness and capability.
The role emphasizes leadership of Training Coaches, implementation of standardized training, and ongoing improvement of training KPIs, with up to 30%
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree and 4-6 years in manufacturing, workforce development, or related fields.
- 2+ years of leadership experience.
- Willingness to travel up to 30%.
Responsibilities
- Direct regional training and development management across facilities.
- Support onboarding, skill progression, certification readiness, and workforce flexibility.
- Standardize training and certification, applying TWI where appropriate.
- Lead training coaches and regional teams with coaching and guidance.
- Monitor training effectiveness and KPI readiness; identify improvement opportunities.
- Maintain training records, certifications, and compliance training.
- Partner with HR and plant leadership for workforce planning and hiring decisions.
- Support grants and external workforce development partnerships.
