Job summary

Quanex, located in Statesville, NC, seeks a Production Manager II to lead shop floor operations across production, shipping/receiving, maintenance, and grounds. You will drive safety, quality, and continuous improvement, while coordinating with sales and engineering to meet customer demands.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business Administration or 7+ years of managerial manufacturing experience, with strong lean, ERP/scheduling, and leadership capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering, Business Administration or equivalent; 7+ years in a managerial role in manufacturing is required.
• Experience in production, production control, engineering and supervision essential.
• Thorough knowledge of product offerings and product/process capabilities.
• Fundamental understanding and experience with lean manufacturing.
• ERP/Scheduling knowledge and experience.

Responsibilities

• Establishes leadership to support safety, employment, labor relations and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure production orders are completed on schedule, within budget and to quality standards.
• Develop and train reporting personnel in manufacturing processes, JIT, QA, safety and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate with materials to achieve optimal inventory turns.
• Manage weekly production planning forecasts with input from core stakeholders.
• Ensure implementation of a quality system achieving 100% on-time delivery the first time.
• Support plant initiatives and directives on safety, quality, production and continuous improvement.
