Makersite is hiring a Data Scientist to develop and deploy production‑grade AI systems. You’ll build APIs, design RAG architectures, and optimize large‑scale models with a focus on reliability and observability.

Collaboration with product and engineering teams will drive the digital transformation in sustainability and manufacturing. The role offers remote‑first flexibility across the EU with optional in‑person collaboration at offices in Germany; you’ll advance CI/CD and MLOps practices,

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Python and 10+ years in software/data experience.
• Proven production API delivery experience (FastAPI preferred).
• Hands-on experience with LLMs and LLMOps incl. prompt tuning and evaluation.
• Experience fine-tuning open-source models and vector DBs.

Responsibilities

• Build, deploy, and maintain scalable AI APIs in production.
• Own end-to-end delivery of AI solutions from prototyping to production.
• Design and implement RAG systems using vector databases.
• Evaluate LLMs and foundation models for use cases.
• Optimize latency, cost, and throughput at scale.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and CI/CD pipelines for ML systems.
