Job summary

J.P. Morgan Asset & Wealth Management seeks a qualified attorney to join Global Alternatives Investment Solutions, supporting the Product Structuring team.

You will help design bespoke hedge fund, private credit, and multi-asset investment solutions for institutional and private clients worldwide. The role requires a law degree with 2+ years in structuring investments, strong tax/regulatory knowledge, and experience negotiating with fund managers.

Qualifications

• Qualified attorney with law degree (J.D. or equivalent).
• 2+ years of legal or tax experience in a law firm, accounting firm or alternative investment firm, structuring/advising on private investment vehicles and accounts.
• Experience structuring vehicles for hedge funds, private credit funds, funds-of-funds, and/or separately managed accounts, either at a law firm, a hedge fund or fund-of-funds, or similar organization.
• Good understanding of various hedge fund strategies.
• Good working knowledge of tax and regulatory implications for client bases and account structures.
• Understanding of the accounting and operational facets of an investment structure.

Responsibilities

• Structuring investment vehicles and customized arrangements for our institutional client base, including hedge funds-of-funds and funds-of-funds.
• Guiding cross-functional implementation teams for new product initiatives.
• Supporting fundraising activities.
• Liaising with underlying fund managers to create bespoke investment opportunities for client accounts.
• Overseeing investment diligence activities.
• Leading negotiations with fund managers to secure better terms for clients.
• Supporting secondary market investments in private credit funds.
