Job summary

SpaceX in Redmond, WA is seeking a Sr. Product Security Engineer to help secure Starlink software across hardware and software layers.

You will design and implement cryptographic services, security features for routers, gateways, and satellites, and contribute to incident response and threat modelling. Ideal candidates have 5+ years of security software development experience, proficiency in Python/C++/Go, and a track record with OS or distributed-system security.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in CS or STEM and 5+ years in security software development, or 7+ years in lieu of a degree.
Experience with Python, C++, or Go.
Experience designing security solutions for OS, distributed systems, or large-scale infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Design and build security infrastructure for Starlink, including cryptographic services and other security-critical services
Develop security features for Starlink systems, including our router, dish, gateways, and satellites
Design security into factory processes and provide network services in support of this
Maintain existing production systems and improve security posture via direct implementation and recommendations to other teams
Build prototypes and help identify, design, and test security improvements.
