Job summary

Cogent Security in the United States is seeking a Senior Security Engineer, Product Security to own the security of the software we build. You’ll partner with engineering to embed security into the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), keep dependencies and supply chain safe, and ensure the product customers rely on is built on a secure foundation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of extensive security engineering within product/app security.
• Hands-on engineer who ships and automates.
• Strong software skills across the stack (Python, Go, TS).
• Deep knowledge of secure SDLC, threat modeling, code scanning, supply-chain security.
• Fluency with the modern AI landscape and its security implications.
• Able to operate with autonomy in a startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Embed security into the SDLC with threat modeling and secure design reviews.
• Own application security testing (SAST/DAST) and triage to remediation.
• Harden software supply chain: dependency verification and safe management.
• Build and automate security tooling and guardrails at scale.
• Serve as internal security SME on product decisions and as a security driver.
• Partner across teams to make security a default in architecture and design.
