Job summary

Teradyne in Deer Park, IL is seeking a Lead Product Safety and Compliance Engineer to oversee day-to-day safety and EMC compliance for the Power Test Division. You will partner with design teams to drive early risk assessments, coordinate testing with labs and certification bodies, and ensure ongoing compliance with CE, NRTL, SEMI, and IEC standards.

This role requires a strong engineering background, leadership experience, and excellent communication to drive compliance initiatives to closure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; Master’s preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in product safety and compliance engineering.
• Experience leading teams is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of IEC/EN 61010-1, SEMI S2/S8, IEC 60825-1.
• Ability to perform product safety testing and troubleshoot EMC issues.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage product safety and EMC compliance activities across all Power Test Division projects.
• Integrate with design teams to drive early risk assessment and pre-compliance work.
• Coordinate internal and external testing events and interact with certification bodies and labs.
• Ensure compliance with safety and EMC regulations and standards (CE, NRTL, SEMI, etc.).
• Conduct product safety analysis from schematics to system designs.
• Provide formal safety recommendations to engineering teams.
• Maintain Test Reports, Constructional Data Forms (CDFs), and Technical Construction Files (TCFs) to ensure continuing compliance.
• Coordinate EMC pre-compliance and validation activities.
• Benchmark and implement best practices for safety and EMC compliance.
• Travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.
