Job summary

Teradyne is seeking a Lead Product Safety and Compliance Engineer for the Power Test Division, based in Deer Park, IL. You will lead day-to-day safety and EMC compliance activities across all Power Test projects, partnering with design teams to drive risk assessment and pre-compliance work.

You will coordinate internal and external testing with certification bodies and labs, ensure compliance with IEC/EN 61010-1, SEMI S2/S8, and IEC 60825-1, and maintain safety documentation while managing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in product safety and compliance engineering.
• Experience leading teams preferred.
• Strong understanding of IEC/EN 61010-1.
• Familiarity with SEMI S2/S8 and IEC 60825-1.
• Hands-on ability to perform product safety testing.
• Ability to troubleshoot EMC test failures and drive design improvements.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication.
• Proven ability to drive cross-functional compliance initiatives to closure.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage product safety and EMC compliance across all Power Test projects.
• Integrate with design teams to drive early risk assessment and pre-compliance work.
• Coordinate internal and external testing with certification suppliers, bodies, and test labs.
• Ensure compliance with IEC/EN 61010-1, SEMI S2/S8, IEC 60825-1.
• Conduct product safety analysis from schematics to system designs.
• Provide formal safety recommendations to engineering teams.
• Maintain Test Reports, CDFs and Technical Construction Files (TCF).
• Coordinate EMC pre-compliance and validation activities.
• Benchmark and implement best practices for safety and EMC compliance.
• Domestic travel up to 10% may be required.
