Job summary

Teradyne Inc. in San Jose, CA is seeking a Senior Product Compliance Engineer to drive safety and EMC compliance for the Communications Solutions Division. You will partner with development teams to craft standards, build compliance plans, and manage third‑party testing and certifications.

The role requires 7+ years in product safety, hands‑on testing, and deep knowledge of IEC/EN 61010‑1, EN60825, and NFPA 70. You will mentor engineers and support pre‑compliance activities for global markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required
• 7+ years experience in product safety and compliance engineering
• Thorough understanding of IEC/EN 61010-1 standards
• Hands‑on ability to perform product safety testing
• Hands‑on experience with laser measurement and optical power testing
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation)
• Proven ability to work with cross‑functional teams and drive compliance initiatives to closure.
• Knowledge of domestic and international electrical safety standards/regulations, including NFPA 70 and EN61010/EN60825

Responsibilities

• Manage product safety and EMC compliance activities with development teams
• Define applicable standards and certifications; develop compliance plan and test quotations
• Lead design reviews and risk assessments; perform internal safety reviews
• Coordinate internal and external testing events with suppliers and labs
• Ensure compliance with CE, NRTL, IEC/EN 61010-1, and IEC 60825-1
• Conduct product safety analysis from schematics to system level
• Prepare Constructional Data Forms (CDF) and maintain Test Reports and TCFs
• Coordinate EMC pre‑compliance and log non-conformances in JIRA
• Promote safety compliance best practices and mentor junior engineers
