Job summary

Teradyne Inc. in North Reading, MA is seeking an EMC/EMI Compliance Engineer to drive system-level EMC compliance for automated test equipment. You will work with cross-functional design teams to ensure products meet regulatory and internal EMC requirements throughout development.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in electrical engineering and at least 5 years of hands-on EMC testing experience. Expect on-site lab work, documentation, and collaboration with external labs and regulators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical/electronics engineering or physics, or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on EMC test and compliance experience; system-level or industrial equipment EMC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead EMC/EMI compliance projects on-site from early development through product release.
• Perform pre-compliance and formal EMC testing and maintain technical documentation.
• Support EMC lab workflow including test requests, scheduling and report tracking.
• Plan and build EMC test setups with system/configuration, grounding and monitoring.
• Operate and maintain EMC test equipment (receivers, antennas, VNAs, LISNs, power sources).
• Interpret and perform EMC test methods (Radiated/Conducted Emissions, Immunity, etc.).
• Conduct EMC testing in semi-anechoic chambers and split environments as needed.
• Troubleshoot deviations and recommend design improvements.
• Prepare EMC test plans, procedures and participate in design reviews.
• Collaborate with external labs and regulatory bodies as needed.
