Job description

Position Summary:

This position will act as a Senior Product Owner on a production team utilizing Scrum methodology and implement Agile ideology. The Senior Product Owner serves as a bridge between the product development process, business stakeholders, and clients. The primary goal is to provide value for the business/customers and align the business needs with the overall strategy of the department. Responsibilities include meeting with stakeholders, developing and adapting product vision, writing user stories, prioritizing and grooming the backlog, and release planning. The position attends daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives. The ultimate goal of an Agile team is to understand business needs and develop optimal business and/or IT solutions in partnership with department stakeholders and functional experts.

The selected candidate must have current work authorization in the United States. This position is not eligible for Visa Sponsorship.

  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday
  • Shift Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Work Arrangement: Remote

Minimum Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or IT-related field plus three years of IT or Project Management experience, or seven years of relevant experience and education.

Preferred Qualifications:

Three years of experience as a Product Owner or in a Scrum environment using tools like JIRA and Confluence. Certified Product Owner preferred.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Customer/Stakeholder Relations: Providing strategic consultation, creating reports, and managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Project Management and Product Backlog: Leading complex tasks, analyzing enterprise problems, and establishing strategic goals.
  • Prioritization and Planning: Using methods like MoSCoW, Story Mapping, and Kano Analysis to prioritize features and develop product strategies.
  • Mentorship: Guiding and reviewing other Product Owners and increasing their autonomy.
  • Review/Testing: Writing acceptance criteria, finalizing user stories, and validating prototypes.
  • Agile Project Management: Applying Scrum and Agile methodologies effectively, partnering with Scrum Masters.
