Ladders is seeking a Senior Product Manager, Payroll Platform to lead modernization of a mission-critical payroll system in a remote role based in the United States. You will protect payroll accuracy, stability, and compliance while partnering with engineering and leadership to redesign core data structures and set governance standards.

In this role, you will drive evidence-based decisions about system changes, focusing on data access controls, risk management, and cross-functional collaboration

Qualifications

Job description

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Product Manager, Payroll Platform to join the team of a leader in the Enterprise Technology space.

This role will own the modernization of a mission-critical payroll platform, with a strong focus on protecting payroll accuracy, stability, and compliance throughout the transition. You will partner closely with engineering, leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders to redesign core data structures, set governance standards, and make evidence-based decisions about system changes. The position calls for deep product judgment in a regulated environment where sensitive data, access controls, and operational risk must be carefully managed.

Location: Remote

Compensation: $120,000 – $145,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Own the modernization of the payroll platform while ensuring there is no risk to payroll operations
• Assess the costs of maintaining legacy systems and their impact on payroll performance
• Lead the redesign of the payroll data model in collaboration with engineering
• Establish and enforce access and audit protocols for payroll systemsManage compliance and data retention policies for payroll, documenting decisions clearly
• Challenge assumptions about payroll system capabilities and document findings
• Facilitate quarterly payroll roadmap reviews and maintain communication with leadership
