Job summary

City of New York's Office of Technology and Innovation (OTI) is hiring Senior Product Managers to shape, ship, and launch resident-facing products end-to-end. This is a hands-on role, pairing with designers, engineers, researchers, policy teams, and city staff to move from problem statements to working products for New Yorkers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, mathematics or related field; six years of satisfactory full-time experience related to enterprise architecture, solutions architecture, network architecture and/or IT infrastructure systems; or ten years of experience; or equivalent combination.

Responsibilities

• Lead resident-facing products end-to-end, from problem framing through public launch, owning scope, sequencing, and the call on what ships in version one.
• Move quickly through discovery, rapid prototyping, MVP iteration, pilot, and launch, making pragmatic tradeoffs between scope, quality, and timing.
• Plan and run discovery with New Yorkers and agency partners, turning findings into a clear product direction.
• Partner with designers, engineers, user researchers, and other OTI staff on day-to-day product decisions, and own scoping and prioritization.
• Build and maintain relationships with agency staff, policy advisors, and executive sponsors, translating between policy goals and product decisions.
• Coordinate with the wider OTI team on production launch needs including platforms, performance, security, accessibility, and compliance reviews.
• Define and measure success with clear metrics, instrument products, and report on outcomes and learnings.
• Drive public launches and rollout with comms and external partners.
• Write product briefs and post-launch retros to preserve knowledge and enable continual improvement.
• Assist in shaping the product culture through mentorship, hiring, and onboarding for future PMs.
