Job summary

Motive is seeking a Senior / Staff Product Manager, Connected Devices (Equipment Monitoring) to own the hardware and firmware roadmap for in-field assets like asset gateways, beacons, sensors, and power accessories. You will drive NPIs from concept to mass production, own reliability, and lead device partnerships with vendors and OEMs.

You'll collaborate with Electrical Engineering, Embedded/Firmware, Mechanical, Quality, Manufacturing, and TPM, and align cloud/product teams on telemetry,

Qualifications

• Six-plus years in product management for IoT, telematics, or connected hardware products.
• Ownership of hardware NPI programs through EVT/DVT/PVT, certifications, and supplier relations.
• Strong fluency with battery-powered systems, RF/antenna, GNSS, cellular, BLE, and firmware architecture.
• Experience owning firmware roadmaps, OTA updates, and device provisioning.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence roadmaps.

Responsibilities

• Own hardware and firmware roadmap for Equipment Monitoring in-field devices.
• Drive end-to-end NPI execution from problem definition to mass production and certification.
• Own installed base metrics: reliability, battery life, connectivity, and install success.
• Define firmware features to extend device value and ensure staged rollout and observability.
• Lead device partnerships with vendors, OEMs, and carriers; align with BD and Supply Chain.
• Translate customer signals into crisp requirements and maintain alignment across teams.
• Write PRDs and specs; collaborate with hardware, firmware, mechanical, quality, and manufacturing.
