Job summary

Remitly, Inc. is seeking a Senior Product Manager for the Transactions domain to own strategy, roadmap, and delivery across transaction orchestration, data, and eligibility.

• Own the lifecycle of the domain, including strategy, roadmap, and delivery, and build buy-in across engineering and cross-functional leadership.
• Partner with teams across Remitly that build on your platform domain, balancing their needs against a coherent long-term roadmap.
• Define what success looks like for your area and drive initiatives that move customer and company outcomes (e.g., transaction reliability).
• Be a genuine technical thought partner to engineering, understanding APIs, orchestration, and system tradeoffs, representing the customer.
• Lead modernization efforts that retire legacy systems with reusable platform capabilities, without compromising reliability.
• Shape the platform vision, balancing end-user and internal team needs.
• Own end-to-end transaction lifecycle and identify opportunities to automate and decouple components as the business scales.
• Independently build end-to-end product prototypes using AI infrastructure.

About the Role

Every time a Remitly customer sends money, our Transaction domain is what makes it happen, orchestrating pricing, risk, payments, and disbursements into a single reliable transfer, at scale, across the world. We're building the capability layer that powers every product Remitly ships that moves money so new products can be assembled from proven, reusable building blocks instead of built from scratch. As a Senior Product Manager on Transactions, you'll own the strategy, and roadmap for a core domain at Remitly including transaction orchestration, transaction data, and transaction eligibility/ limits. You'll partner with engineering to turn platform capabilities into product differentiators, and you'll be the person other teams across Remitly turn to when they need to build something that touches transactions.

You Will

• Own the lifecycle of the domain, including strategy, roadmap, and delivery, and build buy-in across engineering and cross-functional leadership.
• Partner with teams across Remitly that build on your platform domain, balancing their needs against a coherent long-term roadmap.
• Define what success looks like for your area and drive the initiatives that move customer and company outcomes (ex: transaction reliability and ease of integration).
• Be a genuine technical thought partner to engineering, deeply understanding the APIs, orchestration, and system tradeoffs that requirements or design impact, representing the customer in all conversations.
• Lead modernization efforts that retire legacy systems and replace them with reusable, composable platform capabilities, without compromising the reliability customers depend on.
• Shape the platform vision, balancing the needs of the end customer with the needs of the internal teams building on your platform.
• Own the end-to-end transaction lifecycle, proactively identifying opportunities to automate, harden, and decouple its components as the business scales.
• Independently build end-to-end product prototypes using our AI infra - spanning product thinking, design, data, and code - going beyond writing requirements to shipping working proof points.

You Have

• 5+ years of technical product management experience, ideally with some experience on platform, infrastructure, or developer facing products.
• A track record of defining product vision and roadmap in ambiguous spaces where the strategy isn't handed to you, and delivering against it with limited guidance.
• Good judgment on the tradeoff between shipping what one team needs now and building the capability every future team will need.
• Technical depth: comfortable in conversations about APIs, event driven architecture, orchestration/workflow engines, and distributed systems tradeoffs.
• Experience managing many stakeholders with competing priorities and building consensus without formal authority.
• Real curiosity about how complex systems work end to end, a habit of digging into the data or the code rather than taking someone's word for it.
• Experience using AI to build product prototypes across product, design, data, and code.
• Experience owning or significantly improving a production system's reliability or automation (e.g., reducing manual intervention, improving fault tolerance, simplifying architecture).

Compensation Details

The starting base salary range for this position is typically $156,000 -$195,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
