About Nova Music

We’re building Nova Music to give independent music teachers one place to run their studios. Nova brings scheduling, attendance, billing, family communication, lesson records, student portals, and practice into one connected experience.

We talk with our customers daily. Their feedback, along with how they use the product, shapes what we build.

Our goal is to reduce the administrative work teachers carry, make things clearer for families, and create a better experience for students between lessons.

The role

We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager who can help us decide what to build, why it matters, and whether it worked.

You’ll work directly with customers, the cofounders, and engineers to understand important problems, set a clear direction, and guide products from early ideas through launch and iteration.

You’ll help shape Nova’s product direction as we grow, while keeping the team focused on the problems that matter most to teachers, families, and students.

What you’ll do
  • Talk regularly with music teachers and studio owners to understand their workflows, frustrations, and priorities.
  • Set product priorities across acquisition, onboarding, scheduling, billing, communication, and student engagement.
  • Turn customer and business problems into clear requirements, scope, tradeoffs, and success metrics.
  • Partner closely with engineering from discovery through launch.
  • Analyze product behavior using PostHog, SQL, customer feedback, and operational data.
  • Coordinate launches and help customers discover and adopt meaningful improvements.
  • Evaluate whether released features improved customer and business outcomes.
  • Keep product plans, customer feedback, analytics, and engineering work aligned.
  • Use AI to make product discovery, analysis, prototyping, and communication faster and more effective.
What success looks like
  • More music teachers discover Nova, create accounts, and successfully set up their studios.
  • More teachers adopt Nova’s core workflows and continue using the product over time.
  • Nova converts more teachers into paying customers and grows recurring revenue.
  • The team ships more useful features and product improvements, and customers adopt them.
  • Product launches produce measurable improvements in activation, engagement, retention, or revenue.
  • Customer feedback moves more quickly from discovery to released improvements.
  • Recurring customer problems and avoidable support issues decline.
  • Product priorities remain clear, giving the team confidence about where to invest its time.
  • Customer insight and product data consistently improve the quality of our decisions.
What we’re looking for
  • You have 2–5 years of product management experience and are ready to take on the ownership and scope of a senior role.
  • You have experience building products for music teachers, educators, coaches, tutors, therapists, or other independent professionals who run appointment-based businesses.
  • You understand the importance of recurring schedules, customer communication, billing, and trust in a small service business.
  • You’ve owned or contributed meaningfully to discovery, prioritization, delivery, launch, and measurement.
  • You’re a strong customer interviewer with sound product judgment.
  • You’ve helped improve acquisition, activation, retention, revenue, or customer satisfaction.
  • You’re comfortable working with product analytics, experimentation, event tracking, and SQL.
  • You understand technology well enough to collaborate effectively with engineers and evaluate tradeoffs.
  • You’ve used AI tools in meaningful product work.
  • You communicate clearly and can turn ambiguity into focused decisions.
  • You’re comfortable working directly with founders in a fast-moving environment.

Direct experience with music education or studio-management software is strongly preferred.
