Job description

Salary up to $260,000 (OTE $345,000) + equity
About the Business

We're building an AI operating system for outpatient care.

We're at an exciting stage of growth. Customer demand is growing faster than our engineering team can currently deliver, contracted ARR is building, and our biggest opportunity is turning that demand into exceptional products.

We're looking for an ambitious, technically strong builder who is ready to take ownership of our product direction, lead a small engineering team and continue writing code every day.

This isn't a traditional Head of Product position. We're not looking for someone with 10+ years of leadership experience who spends their days in meetings.

We're looking for someone earlier in their career, with strong software engineering foundations, product instincts and the ambition to step into a leadership role.

The Role

We believe AI is fundamentally changing how products are built.

The traditional separation between engineering, product management, design and user research is becoming less relevant.

The future belongs to builders: people who can understand customers, identify problems, design solutions and ship exceptional products themselves.

As Head of Product, AI, you'll own what we build, why we build it and how we build it.

You'll lead a small, high-performing engineering team, working alongside both engineers and AI agents. But you'll also remain deeply hands‑on, writing code, building features and shipping products yourself.

You'll work directly with our CEO, CTO and CMO, with significant ownership and influence over the direction of the business.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Own the product roadmap, priorities and technical product decisions.
  • Speak directly with customers to understand their problems, gather feedback and identify opportunities.
  • Design, build, test and ship AI-powered products end-to-end.
  • Write production code daily, remaining an active individual contributor.
  • Lead a small engineering team, coordinating work across human engineers and AI agents.
  • Take ownership of product quality, usability and user experience.
  • Make decisions quickly, balancing customer needs, technical feasibility and commercial priorities.
  • Work closely with the founders to translate customer demand and contracted revenue into delivered products.
  • Continuously experiment with AI tools and new ways of building software to improve development speed and quality.
What We're Looking For
Essential requirements *Highlighted requirements are non‑negotiable.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
  • At least 2 years of professional software engineering experience after graduation (excluding internships).
  • Ideally 3–8 years of total professional experience, with a strong engineering background and a move towards product ownership.
  • Strong hands‑on software engineering skills and experience building and shipping production software.
  • Demonstrable product management skills, including identifying customer problems, prioritising features and making product decisions (min 1 year)
  • Practical experience building AI-powered products and using AI development tools.
  • Ability to work independently across engineering, product and user experience.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence engaging directly with customers and senior stakeholders.
  • A high level of ownership, curiosity and willingness to make decisions.
Nice to have
  • At least 1 year of experience in a formal Product Manager role.
  • Previous experience leading engineers or taking technical ownership of a product.
  • Experience working in an early‑stage startup.
  • Computer Science degree from a strong engineering university, such as UC Berkeley, Georgia Tech, Waterloo, Carnegie Mellon, UIUC, University of Michigan, University of Washington or Princeton.
Who Will Thrive Here?
  • Loves building products and doesn't want to stop coding to progress their career.
  • Thinks like an engineer but also understands customers, product strategy and user experience.
  • Is comfortable taking responsibility for decisions rather than waiting for direction.
  • Wants to lead a team but doesn't need a large team to make an impact.
  • Uses AI tools daily and is excited about how they are changing software development.
  • Can move between customer conversations, product decisions and hands‑on engineering.
  • Enjoys the pace, ambiguity and responsibility of an early‑stage startup.
Why Join?

Real ownership: You'll have significant influence over the product roadmap and how products are built.

Hands‑on leadership: You'll lead engineers while continuing to build and ship software yourself.

Work directly with the founders: You'll collaborate closely with the CEO, CTO and CMO on decisions that directly affect the business.

Immediate impact: Customer demand is already there. Your challenge is to turn that demand into shipped products.

Opportunity to step up: You don't need to have been a Head of Product before. We're looking for someone with the technical ability, product judgement and ambition to grow into the role.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity for a software engineer who has moved into product, or a technically strong Product Manager who still loves coding, to take a significant step forward.

We're not hiring someone to manage processes or oversee a large department.

We're hiring someone who wants to build, lead and take ownership of an AI product with real customer demand.

If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
