Job summary

Monument is seeking an experienced Product Manager to drive financial system enhancements. You will own requirements, write PRDs, and define API contracts while aligning with platform strategy. Collaboration with engineering and cross-functional teams is essential to deliver high-quality features on time.

The role requires strong discovery, data-flow understanding, and ability to manage epics and stories in a fast-paced environment. Office presence in Dallas/Addison is preferred.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a Product Management role at a software company.
  • Experience working within complex accounting, billing, payments, or financial systems.
  • Understanding of financial workflows, reconciliation, data integrity, and reporting accuracy.
  • Thoroughness and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage shifting priorities.
  • Ownership of product area, proactive communication, and accountability.
  • Passion for building and scaling complex systems.
  • Comfortable navigating technical conversations around data flows, dependencies, and API contracts.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering leads.
  • Adaptable and resilient, with the ability to manage ambiguity and shifting priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct discovery on new features by analyzing business requirements, competitive analysis, and customer/stakeholder feedback
  • Write detailed PRDs covering business objectives, system architecture impacts, data flows, and API contract requirements
  • Collaborate with Engineering to ensure feasibility and alignment with platform strategy
  • Validate requirements with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Break down requirements into Epics and Stories with UI/UX requirements, business logic, API dependencies, and acceptance criteria
  • Lead Agile ceremonies including backlog grooming, sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives
  • Communicate risks, blockers, and timeline changes proactively
  • Define integration strategies, data contracts, and API design with engineering leads
  • Collaborate with external partners and internal platform teams to deliver robust integrations
  • Test and validate features before release, including edge cases
  • Develop deep expertise in Monument’s product, workflows, and customer use cases
  • Lead a team of engineers to deliver high-quality enhancements at scale
  • Ensure quarterly goals and commitments are achieved and products are delivered on time and to quality and design standards
