Job summary

Staples Private Brands is seeking a Senior Manager of Product Engineering in the U.S. to lead engineering from concept through commercialization.

You will guide product development, collaborate with Global Sourcing, Quality, Operations, and Design teams to improve performance, manufacturability, and cost, and drive strategic supplier relationships. You will manage complex projects, influence stakeholders without direct authority, and ensure adherence to safety and regulatory standards while

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
• 10+ years in product engineering, development, or manufacturing engineering.
• Experience supporting new product development and commercialization.
• Experience translating business needs into engineering solutions.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, testing, and quality systems.
• Proven collaboration with Product Development, Sourcing, Quality, Operations, and Design teams.
• Experience leading complex projects and influencing without direct reporting authority.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead U.S. product engineering support for development, commercialization, and improvements.
• Translate requirements into clear specifications and engineering solutions.
• Evaluate prototypes to improve performance, manufacturability, reliability, and cost.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver successful products.
• Ensure products meet quality, compliance, performance, and cost objectives.
• Lead value engineering and continuous improvement initiatives.
