Job summary

Vertiv in Delaware, OH is seeking a Senior Product Engineer for its single-phase UPS systems. You will provide technical leadership across product development, lifecycle management, and value engineering, collaborating with R&D, manufacturing, and service teams to meet design and market requirements.

The role focuses on 500VA–25kVA+ UPS systems, with responsibilities spanning test planning, field issue support, and cost-out opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
• 5–8 years’ experience in power infrastructure, UPS, or related area.
• Strong knowledge of electrical power components and assemblies.
• Experience with PLM processes.
• Excellent planning, analytical, and communication skills.
• Team-oriented and collaborative approach.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
• Proficient in English (written and verbal).

Responsibilities

• Lead and support product development programs for 1‑phase UPS systems.
• Drive ideas and improvements from customer insights to R&D.
• Translate field learnings to engineering documentation and design changes.
• Develop and execute engineering test cases; report results.
• Interact with customers for quoting/sales support or issue resolution.
• Prototype and implement design changes to improve products and reduce costs.
• Evaluate alternative components and solutions with component engineers.
• Provide technical support for field applications and service issues.
• Coordinate change orders and prepare technical drawings and specs.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, service, and testing to define specs and test plans.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
• Support continuous improvement with a customer-first mindset.
• Occasionally operate test equipment up to 208/240 VAC and 60 kW.
• Design, build, and modify simple test equipment as needed.
• Perform other related duties and projects.
