Job summary

Gemini is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Product) to join the Tooling team in New York. You will work across backend, web, and mobile to ship customer-facing platform tooling that shapes onboarding, compliance, and support experiences for millions of users.

You will leverage AI-assisted development, maintain end-to-end ownership, and contribute to a fast-paced, cross-functional engineering culture. This role requires in-person presence twice weekly at the NYC office.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software engineering experience building production systems at scale.
• Experience across backend, web and mobile layers.
• Proficiency in typed languages (TypeScript, Scala, Java, Go) and comfort with JavaScript/TypeScript for web/mobile.
• Experience building consumer-facing applications with strong UX/UI sense.
• Fluency with AI coding tools and automation.
• Expertise in unit and integration testing and code health.
• Strong communication and teamwork across time zones.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy customer-facing features across backend, web, and mobile end-to-end.
• Build platform tooling for onboarding, identity/KYC, and customer support workflows for millions of users.
• Leverage AI coding tools and agentic pipelines to accelerate development and improve automation.
• Own the DevOps lifecycle for the products you build.
