Role Overview

Raytheon is seeking a Senior Product Engineer in the Texas Materials and Process department. This role involves process and product development for production and developmental efforts, working closely with various engineering disciplines to produce microelectronics for military and defense hardware. Responsibilities include overseeing product assembly from kit to ship, contributing to patents, trade secrets, and innovations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Utilize statistical process control techniques, experimental designs, and material/ mechanical analysis to identify root causes and corrective actions for systemic issues.
2. Implement process improvements to reduce costs and enhance yields.
3. Responsible for assembly methods, material selection, and process development, emphasizing hands-on work and automated assembly.
4. Evaluate materials, equipment, and processes, including qualification, acceptance testing, and specification development, interfacing with suppliers.
5. Collaborate with Quality, Reliability, Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Manufacturing, and Operations teams.
6. Support on-call and on-site production as needed, with eligibility for overtime.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in STEM (preferred) with at least 5 years of engineering experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Preferred Experience

• Microelectronic and circuit card assembly, SMT, component underfill, staking, solvent cleaning.
• Work in clean rooms, experience with environmental stress testing, DOE, root cause analysis, engineering documentation, CAD, and knowledge of military standards.
• Knowledge of advanced adhesives, solders, coatings, NDT, destructive testing, and relevant standards.

Additional Information
