Job Description

As a Senior Java Developer, you will take ownership of designing, developing, and maintaining core features of our cloud-based pre-payroll and payroll platform. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you’ll leverage your expertise in Java and cloud technologies to create robust, scalable solutions that meet the needs of our customers. If you're a problem solver passionate about building high-quality software in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, we’d love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

• Develop new features, base functionality, or fixes for our cloud-based payroll solution as part of a scrum team.
• Design and build scalable, efficient backend systems for online payroll and pre-payroll solutions.
• Perform hands-on development by writing clean, maintainable, and performant code using Java and Kotlin.
• Collaborate with product owners, UX, and other teams to align on priorities and deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Optimize database queries, response times, and scale backend services to improve system performance.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience (Java, Kotlin).
• Strong understanding of backend architecture, distributed systems, and API design.
• Experience with data-intensive applications and performance optimization.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a “maker” mentality.
• Excellent communication skills in English; German knowledge is a plus.
