Job summary

Tramec Sloan, LLC is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead product development from concept through launch at either Holland, Michigan or Galion, Ohio. You will provide technical leadership to cross-functional teams, mentor engineers, and drive APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA, and PPAP processes.

You will develop designs with SolidWorks, manage CAD/BOMs/ECNs, and evaluate manufacturability, cost, and quality while guiding Lean initiatives and root-cause analysis. Travel 10–20% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Design Engineering, or related field required.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of product engineering experience.
• Experience leading engineering projects from concept through production.
• Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PLM, and engineering change management.
• Heavy-duty truck, automotive, or industrial equipment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead new product development from concept through production launch.
• Provide technical leadership for cross-functional engineering teams.
• Develop innovative product designs using SolidWorks.
• Create and maintain CAD models, drawings, BOMs, routings, Product Masters, and ECNs/ECOs.
• Lead APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, PPAP, and design reviews.
• Evaluate manufacturability, cost, quality, reliability, and serviceability.
• Manage projects involving various manufacturing processes.
• Drive cost reduction and value engineering initiatives.
• Support tooling development, supplier qualification, prototype builds, and production launches.
