Job summary
Tramec Sloan, LLC is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer to support supplier qualification, development, and validation across our Holland, MI or Galion, OH facilities. You will partner with Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, and Manufacturing to improve supplier performance and meet engineering, cost, and delivery targets.
The role emphasizes APQP/PPAP leadership, DFMEA/PFMEA support, DFMEA and PPAP packages, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure readiness for new product
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering.
- 5–8 years of engineering, supplier quality, manufacturing engineering, or purchasing engineering experience.
- Experience with supplier qualification and APQP/PPAP.
- Experience working with domestic and international suppliers.
- Heavy-duty truck, automotive, or industrial manufacturing experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead supplier qualification activities and capability assessments.
- Develop suppliers to meet engineering and quality expectations.
- Coordinate component validation and ensure conformance to specifications.
- Lead APQP/PPAP activities and coordinate Run-at-Rate readiness.
- Support engineering change notices and supplier cost-reduction initiatives.
- Participate in cross-functional supplier quality and collaboration efforts.
- Travel up to 25% as required.
