Job summary

Esri is seeking a senior software engineer to lead image analysis development for defense and intelligence applications. You will design, test, document, and deploy geospatial solutions applying photogrammetry, remote sensing, and AI within ArcGIS-focused workflows.

Mentorship, rigorous quality, and cross-team collaboration are central to this role. You will define critical functionality, shape user experiences, and orchestrate testing of complex imagery formats while ensuring secure handling of

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering experience with COTS or GOTS software products.
• Advanced experience in remote sensing, image processing, photogrammetry, or image analysis.
• Proven ability to lead major testing or design efforts and mentor others.
• Strong skills in preparing and automating test strategies and cases.
• Experience managing project timelines and dependencies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to work with controlled unclassified information (CUI).
• U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain a U.S. Top Secret clearance with SCI access.

Responsibilities

• Design, document, and test industry leading software solutions for imagery products supporting formats such as NITF, GeoTIFF, CADRG and MISB compliant video (FMV).
• Collaborate with software developers to integrate and test analytical toolkits into ArcGIS.
• Orchestrate and document results from defense and intelligence lab testing.
• Collaborate on software projects designing and building new software and planning for future releases.
• Define, document, and prioritize user requirements for GIS software in real-world remote sensing scenarios.
• Lead design, development, and documentation of automated QA plans and tests.
