Mia Labs, an investor-backed startup, is modernizing dealership operations and transforming the automotive consumer experience. We are seeking a Senior Product Engineer focused on backend Python development, scalable systems, and voice/multi-channel collaboration, working closely with our AI lead.

You will design and maintain backend services in Python, contribute to frontend with TypeScript/React, optimize real-time speech/voice pipelines, and mentor teammates while advancing the product

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong Python fundamentals.
• Experience with frontend development using TypeScript and React.
• A product mindset — you think about the "why" behind what you build and can contribute meaningfully to roadmap conversations.
• Proven ability to lead large-scale refactoring or architecture migration projects — shipping incrementally without breaking production.
• Experience deploying applications in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure) using Docker.
• Strong communication and ownership; comfortable working directly with senior cross-functional stakeholders.
• Use AI to code — Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or equivalent. This is how we work.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems using Python.
• Build and contribute to frontend features using TypeScript and React.
• Improve voice pipeline performance, expanding multi-channel communication capabilities, and evaluating emerging technologies.
• Implement and optimize real-time speech-to-text (STT) and text-to-speech (TTS) systems.
• Contribute to multi-channel messaging systems (SMS, email, voice) built on a shared agentic backbone.
• Own complex refactoring and architecture projects — replacing brittle, legacy patterns with clean, testable, scalable solutions.
• Apply best practices in software development, including testing, CI/CD pipelines, and code reviews.
• Mentor and guide team members, fostering technical growth and collaboration.
