Job description

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Senior Product Engineer. This role is based at our Hayward, CA satellite location just outside of the San Francisco Bay area and offers relocation assistance for those currently residing in the US. This is a multi-faceted role responsible for executing engineering/technical, administrative, supply chain, and sales functions to support the manufacture of high-quality power distribution products.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $99,900 to $146,520. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you’ll do:

1. Prepare all drawings and manufacturing information (mechanical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, bills of material, etc.) to ensure achievement of facility goals.
2. Maintain positive regional client relationships regarding technical specifications, product applications, requests for approval, and job site visits.
3. Manage Customer Quality (CQM) warranty issues, including troubleshooting and engineering of shipped products.
4. Proactively manage inventory and purchase orders to resolve issues timely relative to the production schedule.
5. Assist with scheduling Satellite/Service Center products to meet customer needs and plant capacity.
6. Maintain good working relationships with customers, distributors, supply chain, Eaton sales personnel, and internal plant staff to support quality customer service.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Basic (required) Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
• At least one year of product, design, electrical, or sales engineering experience in a manufacturing environment (co-ops and internships count).
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now and in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Mechatronics Engineering.
• At least two years of product engineering experience in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge or experience with Panelboards/Switchboards.
• Advanced knowledge of controls engineering, SAP, and AutoCAD.
