Job summary

Watlow’s Advanced Technology Center in St. Louis, MO seeks a Senior Product Development Engineer to engineer, design, and support products for Nuclear, Aerospace, and Defense heaters, sensors, cables, and controls.

You will lead projects from proposal through delivery, interfacing with customers, suppliers, and internal teams. You will apply thermodynamics, electrical and mechanical theory, and ensure compliance with applicable codes.

Qualifications

Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with 5+ years of experience (or 3 years with a Master's).
Experience in regulated markets with adherence to specifications and standards.
Understanding of basic thermodynamics, electrical, and mechanical theories.
Process-oriented mindset with attention to detail.
Troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem solving abilities.
Ability to read and apply technical specifications to work and processes.
Strong decision making and prioritization skills.
Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
Solid modelling CAD experience.
Ability to work in a team-based environment.
Ability to manage multiple projects of varying size and scope.
Proactive team player with strong relationship-building.
Excellent customer-facing communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

Review customer specifications and design/develop products to meet needs.
Support products through fabrication and improve design and fabrication processes.
Ensure compliance with Codes and Standards for regulated markets.
Lead projects from proposal to delivery with frequent supplier and customer interaction.
