The role requires strong collaboration with product managers, engineers, researchers, and content strategists, plus mentorship and strategic input on the product direction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field
• 8+ years of product design experience, with demonstrated impact on consumer products at scale
• A portfolio that shows end-to-end ownership of complex, multi-surface product experiences
• Experience leading end-to-end development efforts with Cross Functional Partner (XFN) teams, roadmaps, and high-impact decisions
• Expertise in advanced prototyping techniques, such as functional prototypes or emerging tech
• Comfort with data: using metrics, research, and experiments to inform design decisions

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver design projects across Instagram's product ecosystem
• Turn broad, conceptual ideas into valuable experiences for 2 billion+ users
• Design flows and experiences that simplify complex actions into usable interfaces
• Design new experiences or layouts that evolve visual systems
• Innovate with AI to create new capabilities and value
• Contribute to strategic decisions about future direction of Instagram products
• Provide and solicit feedback to raise quality and mentor others
• Lead cross-functional partnerships to oversee product experience from conception to launch
• Elevate design craft and influence others in the team
