Job summary

c1.ai is actively seeking a Senior Product Designer in New York to go deep on identity and access problems before code is written. You will work with a small, high-output design team, collaborating with Design Engineers who lead implementation and design systems.

You’ll spend time with customers, untangle complex workflows, and shape solutions that align with business goals. AI is integrated into the workflow, and you’ll prototype in code when fastest to learn.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of product design experience in complex B2B or enterprise software.
• Strong fundamentals in research, problem framing, interaction design, information architecture and visual craft.
• Proficient in Figma; comfortable with AI-assisted workflows and prototype in code when helpful.

Responsibilities

• Own product areas from problem definition through launch and iteration, across complex enterprise workflows.
• Talk to customers regularly; run research, join sales and support calls, and translate insights into clear problem statements and direction.
• Explore widely, map flows, sketch alternatives, pressure-test ideas, and argue for the right solution.
• Prototype at whatever fidelity answers the question fastest, including sketches, Paper or Pen.dev, Claude Design prototypes, or agentic code.
• Write the context that makes building possible: specs, decision records, and design rationale for humans and AI agents.
• Ship small UI fixes and polish using AI-assisted workflows, and grow toward larger pieces if it excites you.
• Contribute to our design system as a consumer and advocate, partnering with Design Engineers.
• Communicate the why behind design decisions clearly and publicly; we design in the open here.
