Job summary

Cast AI is seeking a Senior Product Designer to join the Kimchi design team. You will work with engineers and platform teams to shape infrastructure-focused products across CLI, desktop app, and developer tooling.

You will own problems end-to-end, lead user research, and prototype in code where it speeds learning. The role emphasizes a strong point of view, hands-on collaboration, and shaping strategy in a remote-first, globally distributed environment.

Qualifications

• Portfolio showing senior-level design work on developer tools, AI/LLM products, coding agents, or other technical, data-heavy SaaS platforms.
• Own research end-to-end and influence product direction based on findings.
• Comfort working with AI-assisted development workflows and hands-on with the codebase.
• Ability to form and defend a point of view under ambiguity.
• Experience designing for technical, engineering-savvy users and discussing APIs/architecture.
• Strong async communication.

Responsibilities

• Own problems end-to-end across Kimchi surface — CLI, desktop app, inference/spend console, or developer tooling.
• Lead user research initiatives independently: plan, run, synthesize, and turn findings into a case for what the product should do next.
• Prototype in code where faster than Figma — test ideas directly in product using AI-assisted workflows.
• Bring a point of view to product strategy conversations, backed by usage, research, and competitive awareness.
• Participate in cross-squad design reviews to catch overlap and raise quality.
• Track design debt and push prioritization when risk factors or user feedback require it.
