Job summary

One North is looking for a Senior Product Designer with a passion for UX/UI work and Figma expertise. As part of the TEKsystems Design team, the Senior Product Designer will work alongside an embedded client team in Agile sprints to create high-fidelity UX/UI designs for enterprise applications, leveraging the client’s existing design system.

This role will ideally be based in the Chicago area, but we are open to remote locations across the U.S. and Canada.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of design experience in an in-house product or design systems team, consultancy, or agency.
• Expert command of Figma with advanced features (Auto Layout, Variables, DevMode, Prototyping).
• Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, JS and responsive design (coding not required).
• Strong portfolio demonstrating high-fidelity UX/UI work.

Responsibilities

• Produce highly polished screen designs following UX/UI best practices.
• Participate in client sessions and present original work.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to translate research, brand, and wireframes into designs.
• Incorporate feedback from managers and colleagues to refine designs.

Position Overview

One North is looking for a Senior Product Designer with a passion for UX/ UI work and Figma expertise. As part of the Design team, the Senior Product Designer will work alongside an embedded client team in Agile sprints to create high-fidelity UX/UI designs for enterprise applications, leveraging the client’s existing design system.

This role will ideally be based in the Chicago area, but we are open to remote locations across the U.S. and Canada.

Responsibilities

• Produce highly polished screen designs that follow UX and UI best practices
• Participate in working sessions with clients and present original work
• Work closely with other disciplines to translate their deliverables (e.g., research outcomes, brand platforms, wireframes, etc.) into designs
• Openness to feedback from Managers, Directors, and colleagues from other disciplines

When packing your bags, please bring:

• Deep understanding of design fundamentals and digital product experiences
• Expert command of Figma and its advanced features, such as Auto Layout, Variables, DevMode, Advanced Prototyping
• Experience and passion for UX/UI designs
• Familiarity with design systems and comfort in leveraging them for new interface designs
• Expertise for how to translate desktop designs to tablet and mobile screens
• Solid understanding for design implications around WCAG accessibility requirements
• The ability to thrive in a multi-disciplinary environment with design, client services, strategy, and technology teams
• Demonstrating a high-quality execution of work in all areas
• Being a self-starter and pushing the vision for our clients
• Passion for digital design and staying up to date on the latest tech and trends
• Experience working in an Agile process
• Understanding of various inquiry methods such as usability testing

Your weapons (wield them wisely):

• 5 or more years of design experience in an in-house product or design systems team, consultancy, or agency
• Work examples that demonstrate high-fidelity designs, strategic design thinking, and complex problem solving
• Exceptional visual design skills (e.g., typography, color, layout)
• Advanced skills in Figma
• Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, JS, and responsive design (coding is not a requirement)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Eye for detail and high personal standards
• Dedication to following industry best practices and trends
• Required: A strong portfolio demonstrating a variety of UX/UI work

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Chicago, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $97600.00 - $146400.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
