Job summary

Midland Manufacturing, a Dover/Ocwpex venture, seeks a Senior Product Design Engineer to drive new valve-focused NPD initiatives. You will lead design activities, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure stage-gate compliance from concept through production.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in NPD for fluidic systems, experience with railroad tank-car applications, and strong CAD/analysis skills. Candidates must thrive in a regulated setting and mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering; Master’s preferred.
Five+ years in NPD of fluidic systems.
Two+ years in a manufacturing environment; valve manufacturing preferred.
Two+ years in railroad tank car industry with AAR involvement preferred.
Experience in highly regulated environments.

Responsibilities

Design and oversee NPD; support regulatory approvals, product marketing, manufacturing, and maintenance.
Take ownership of design control and modification activities.
Ensure compliance with stage-gate NPD procedures in the quality system.
Document all NPD activities meticulously.
Effectively communicate technical information to diverse audiences, verbally and in writing.
Illustrate concepts and design details with 3D/2D visuals and presentations.
Coordinate multiple complex projects and delegate tasks.
Lead and mentor junior engineers in NPD.
Operate with minimal supervision.
