Job summary

General Motors seeks a Staff Product Cybersecurity Engineer to act as a senior, hands-on technical leader within Secure Product Engineering. You will build tooling and guardrails, partner with product teams, and drive secure implementation across embedded software, mobile experiences, and services.

You will establish secure engineering services, perform in-depth secure code reviews, and mentor engineers to raise the technical bar while shaping secure patterns across GM’s product portfolio.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of cybersecurity experience in application or product security.
• Demonstrated technical leadership and influence in security/engineering roles.
• Expertise in secure software engineering and practical guidance.
• Experience with SAST, DAST, fuzzing and secure SDLC workflows.
• Ability to read/write multiple programming languages to build tooling.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on technical leader driving secure software and systems engineering outcomes.
• Design and mature secure engineering services for GM products.
• Partner with product engineering to support secure implementations.
• Implement and mature SAST, DAST, fuzzing, runtime and OS security hardening.
• Create guidance, reusable patterns and guardrails for product environments.
• Lead secure code reviews and improve tooling with engineering teams.
• Mentor engineers to raise technical capability across the pillar.
